Our original plan was to go to Denver and then straight to Taos, New Mexico. But after talking with Molly and doing more research we realized we had to explore Colorado. We are so glad that we did.

Colorado is an incredible mix of greenery, mountains, and rivers. We found great trails to mountain bike and national parks to tour. We especially enjoyed our romp through the Great Sand Dunes because Dewey was allowed to join. Here is an action shot of Dewey having a blast on the dunes!

In addition to the trails and parks, we LOVED exploring the hot springs, opting for a soak whenever we could. The natural pools at varying temperatures, nearby sauna, and river dip were such a treat after a hot day. Happy we got to experience the soaking culture of Colorado.

We explored sweet mountain towns like Crested Butte and Telluride. And we experienced river rafting towns like Buena Vista and Durango. Towards the end our our Colorado stay, we found a speakeasy bar and treated ourselves to some yummy cocktails before a delicious meal in Durango.

Thank you Colorado for being such a fun and accessible state to explore! We will most definitely come back.
